With its circular body and the solar panels on its roof, Antalyaspor Stadium is one of the largest structures in the city. Adding a screen to its facade had to be done without covering this body: the stadium’s breathing facade still had to be visible by day, and at night it had to be able to speak to the city.
Media mesh is a net-like screen made of thin LED bars arranged at intervals. Air and light pass between the bars, and from a distance the facade behind remains visible. So, unlike a conventional LED screen, it does not turn the stadium’s architecture into a billboard; it is added to the surface as a layer. The screen uses VMesh P16 bars with 16 pixels per meter, delivering the resolution a stadium facade viewed from afar needs with the fewest pixels.
When darkness falls, the mesh becomes invisible and the surface behaves like a screen. On match days it plays team colors and imagery, on national holidays the flag, and on other nights color animations. The outdoor components chosen for Antalya’s humid, salty air allow the screen to run in the open all year round.
