MidiPix P16 is a high-resolution, pixel-controlled linear LED luminaire with 16 independent pixels per meter. Each pixel is only 62.5 mm long; animations progress not step by step but with smooth motion.
It is the highest-resolution member of the MidiPix family. On surfaces viewed up close, such as entrances seen from pedestrian level, low-rise facades, mall and hotel facades, the pixels blend into one another; light gliding along the line reads almost like a screen image.
The dense pixel structure allows fine light trails, fast chases and soft color gradients. When the luminaires are arranged at intervals, a media surface showing imagery and messages is created; the LED media surface on the side volume of MegaPoint Hospital was built with MidiPix P16.
Slim housing, same protection
With a 19 mm wide anodized aluminum housing and a UV-resistant polycarbonate diffuser, IP68 and IK10 protection and an operating range of −30 °C to +65 °C, it is used safely outdoors.
Control and mounting
The standard version runs on SPI, the optional version on DMX512; it is powered at 24 V DC or 48 V DC. Because of the high pixel count, the control plan requires more channels per meter. Standard lengths of 125–2000 mm and project-specific lengths are installed with lockable brackets and M12 IP68 connectors.
