Light control does not always come from software. A visitor walking through a tunnel, someone approaching a shop window, the sky growing dark or a rotary knob on the wall can also control the light. ORION connects this world to the lighting system: it reads the 0–12 V signal arriving at its eight inputs and sends it to the network as Art-Net or sACN.
What can be connected?
Motion (PIR), light and temperature sensors; switches, buttons and potentiometers; analog outputs of building automation systems. Each input can be set to a different function such as analog, digital or counter; the signal is converted into an 8 or 16-bit DMX value.
Example uses
- A light effect that follows a person walking down a corridor
- Facade lighting whose brightness changes with daylight
- Scenes changed with a button in a museum or shop window
- A computer-free, interactive installation together with MADRIX AURA
