Izmir Bayraklı City Hospital Outdoor Lighting
We equipped the roads, car parks and entrance canopies of Izmir Bayraklı City Hospital with LED pole and canopy lighting; the 2,060-bed campus has safe, wayfinding light at night too.

With 2,060 beds and a construction area of over 573,000 square meters, Izmir Bayraklı City Hospital is a small city in itself. Someone arriving here at night first needs to find their way: which gate to enter, where the car park ends, which canopy the outpatient clinic is under. In this project the task of the light was not to put on a show but to show the way.

We equipped the campus roads and car park areas with LED lighting poles. The spacing of the poles and the distribution of the luminaires were planned to give an even level of illumination at every point of the road; there are no dark gaps. Energy-efficient LEDs keep the operating cost of this large system, which stays on all night, low.

The canopies in front of the outpatient clinic entrances were lit separately; together with the wayfinding signs, you can read from afar which entrance leads where. All cables and connection points used outdoors were installed with waterproof, IP-rated components; the system runs without interruption through Izmir’s rainy winters too.
